Give the gift of happiness.

Special gifts for an unprecedented year.

What a year this 2020 was! This year has challenged all of us and continues to ask for our patience, adaptability and resilience.

Christmas will be different this year. So how about giving a different kind of gift to your loved ones?

Christmas gifts inspired by Positive Psychology.

The Gift of Gratitude.

Expressing gratitude is an excellent way to counteract complacency & to increase wellbeing in you and others. Write a letter to a loved one for Christmas, telling them why you are grateful for having them in your life. Read it to them over the phone if you can't meet in person.

The Gift of Savouring.

Savouring is the capacity to attend to, appreciate and enhance the positive experiences in one's life. Even in a crazy year like 2020, we have all experienced moments of savouring. Make a picture book with the best moments of true savouring you shared with your loved ones.

The Gift of Kindness.

Being kind is an act of giving time, energy or money to others for the sole purpose of making them happy. Consider volunteering in your community, donating to a cause close to your heart or sharing a Christmas meal with someone living alone or less fortunate than yourself.

The Gift of Time.

There will be a time in 2021 where we can move more freely again, where we can hug and be close to our loved ones. Make a plan on Christmas with the loved ones you can not see in person. Write down a post-Covid bucket list with your partner and fill it with as much detail as possible.

Hopefully these ideas inspire you to find a special gift this year, something meaningful that connects you with your loved ones, gives you optimism and hope for a positive start into 2021!

I wish you & your loved ones plenty of happiness for the rest of the year!

Best
